We would like to offer huge congratulations to YUSNOW (York University) for winning the prized title of Wasteland Ski’s Club of the Year 08 / 09 Season.

In case you missed the details, YUSNOW have won themselves the Wasteland Wagon, the Big Horn and the pride of the mountain tarmac! As mentioned in the run-up to the competition and throughout the year, the judges’ decision was based on many things, including the professionalism of the club’s committee and their organisation, the development of the club in general (York have grown leaps and bounds over the past year as an entity within the university snowsports industry and are showing no signs of slowing!) and a club’s ability to work and stick to deadlines, as well as reaching predicted numbers and a good communication process around this.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the runners up, you will surely have an idea of who you were. Without sounding too clichéd it was a close decision and as always, there can only be 1 winner (unless we did one of those Top-Gear-style saw a car in half and produce a monster job?!).

However, all is not necessarily lost. We are considering ourselves to be well and truly stuck in to 09 / 10 season and preparations are developing well. A new vehicle will have to be acquired and a new slate for 09 / 10 Club of the Year has been created out of the hard rock of a secret Welsh Valley (Jules got it whilst traveling around on sales tour…)
